This marks Perplexity AI's entry into the fiercely competitive browser market, intending to replace traditional internet browsing with an AI agent that can represent user thoughts, actions, and decisions. On the same day, reports emerged that OpenAI also plans to launch an AI web browser. According to StatCounter, Chrome held 68% of the global browser market share in June this year, solidifying its position as the most widely used browser in the world.
